...things seen and heard in and around Buffalo and Western New York

Sometimes you just can't get the camera out fast enough, but luckily the memory still works. Most of the time. This is for that guy in the bronze-coloredFord Explorer who cut me off in the Tops Tonawanda parking lot this afternoon. Having this license plate in your rear window:
GOD IS MY CO-PILOT
doesn't give you carte blanche to do whatever you like whenever you're behind the wheel — even if that was God you were talking to on your cell phone – talking while you were driving, I might add. Keep that up and God might stop taking your calls!
Well, I typically spend more than five or six hours a day driving. That gives me a lot of idle brain time, which I use to soak in the scenery. I notice things. Some of them are funny; maybe ironic; and every once in a while downrightstupid. Sometimes while driving aroundit'll finally sink in about something I read in yesterday's paper or maybe heard on the radio. Or maybe I just imagined it all...
Also, as the automotive columnist for the Buffalo newsweekly Artvoice, I have more than a passing interest in cars. Armed with my trusty camera, I'll be taking photos of the more interesting ones I see — either on the road, in the parking lot, or off in a field somewhere. You can see the car pics on the ArtvoiceDaily Blog page, under You Auto Know, by clicking here.
In the past I've written weekly humor columns for Metro Community News (Corbran's Corner), the Tonawanda News (Twin City Grins), and Buffalo Beat (Buffalo Things).
Hopefully you'll stop back often to see what I've seen, or heard... or whatever!
